Craig Potton

Landscape Photographer & Conservationist

Craig Potton is one of New Zealand's best known and respected landscape photographers and an ardent conservationist. In 2013, he received the Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to photography and conservation over the past 35 years. For more than three decades he has documented the New Zealand wilderness, exploring relationships between the concept of artistic beauty and wilderness in the natural world.

Having the opportunity to hear Craig speak about his journey in conservation photography, along with his new approach to capturing the landscape is one not to be missed!

Richard Young

Expert Landscape Photography Tutor

Richard Young is a full-time landscape photographer and photography tutor. He has been guiding groups of photographers in New Zealand since 2010, and in 2013, he founded New Zealand Photography Workshops. Richard’s photography has been recognised in numerous competitions and his love and knowledge of the process of fine-art-printing has made him an ambassador for Epson Fine Art Printers.

After many years of capturing the landscape, his work has evolved to an expressive and mindful approach to photography. His talk will focus on what drives the current trend of today's landscape photography, with his expert teaching background it will offer a unique learning experience.

 

Andris Apse

Full time Landscape Photographer for 40 years

Andris Apse has been a full time landscape photographer for nearly 40 years. He is an honorary Fellow of The New Zealand and the Australian Institutes of Professional Photographers and a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit. He specialises in high quality panoramic photographs that graphically portray the many moods of both the New Zealand wilderness and rural countryside.

Fiordland is Andris Apse greatest photographic passion with him spending over 500 nights living in the most remote parts of this majestic wilderness. On the summit he will share some inspirational stories of his time spent capturing some of his most iconic work in the Fiordland.

Edin Whitehead

Professional Wildlife Photographer & Scientist

Edin is a seabird scientist and a conservation photographer who works for the Northern New Zealand Seabird Trust. She is passionate about inspiring people to explore, understand and conserve our natural environments. In 2019 she published The Brilliance of Birds with Skye Wishart, showcasing the quirky diversity of birdlife in Aotearoa. Edin’s photography has a strong conservation lens, she is a regular finalist in the New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year awards.

Edin is a natural storyteller whose extensive understanding of New Zealand's natural habitats and their inhabitants makes her an expert in her field and a speaker you won't want to miss.
